The standard 5.¼” half-height form factor Tandberg SLR Drive can typically be installed, connected and operating in no time at all. Broad software support provides compatibility with almost every system available today.

The Tandberg SLR50 offers Scalable Linear Recording with a 50Gb data storage capacity at transfer rates of up to 14.4Gb per hour.(assuming 2:1 data compression).

The Tandberg SLR50 is designed for high end UNIX workstations, entry level NT and NetWare PC servers, NT and UNIX mid to high range computers.

The Tandberg SLR50  has read and write capability (with the correct cartridge) with previous SLR tape products (SLR6-SLR32 – it backwards writes to SLR32 and SLR6, it backwards reads to SLR5 (QIC4Gb) and SLR4(QIC2Gb)) and provides migration capabilities to the proposed 40/80Gb and 80/160Gb classes.
